It feels amazing and quite surreal to write that. Social Station was born five months before the pandemic and given the unpredictability in society at that time; truth be told I was not sure if we would make it through. Something inside me kept saying 'small steps, not giant leaps' & 'keep going'- I am so glad I did. I was lucky to be supported by some amazing mentors who saw my vision and have continued to support me on this journey - thank you!
It was always a dream to weave my ethics & values of social work and areas of practice that fascinate me under one roof. I had a vision to continue to champion the human rights of more vulnerable people in society, give people more autonomy, choice and control and practice in a relationship- based way (and continue to eat, sleep and breathe Mental Capacity Act stuff!)
We have grown our network considerably; we are lucky to collaborate with some fantastic people and organisations.
